With less than two weeks until the iPhone 17 reveal, Apple seems just as excited as fans eagerly awaiting its next flagship. The tech giant from Cupertino has officially announced a special event titled “Awe Dropping” set for September 9, expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup along with other new products.

As usual, Apple’s invitation reveals little beyond the date and tagline. However, the invite’s design - and Apple’s history of embedding Easter eggs - offers strong hints about what’s coming.

Here are five key details from the event invitation that appear to confirm previously leaked information about the iPhone 17.

1. A bold new iPhone design is on the way

This year’s tagline, “Awe Dropping,” suggests something visually stunning - possibly a radically new design meant to leave users speechless.

For months, leaks have pointed to the debut of a super-thin iPhone 17 Air, rumored to replace the underperforming Plus line. If true, it would be Apple’s most dramatic design overhaul since the iPhone X, potentially signaling the start of a new three-year upgrade cycle.

If Apple truly aims to surprise the public, launching an ultra-thin device would be the perfect move.

2. Vibrant new color options for the iPhone 17

According to Macworld, Apple is preparing a bold new color palette for the iPhone 17 series. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are expected to come in striking orange and deep blue, while the iPhone 17 and 17 Air may be offered in lighter blue hues.

Traditional black and white options will still be available.

Interestingly, the Apple logo in the event invite appears to feature all of these rumored colors - a strong hint that the leaks are credible.

If that’s the case, fans can already start considering which color they’ll choose for their new iPhone.

3. iPhone 17 Pro to feature advanced cooling system

One major leak suggests the iPhone 17 Pro will incorporate a vapor chamber cooling system to better manage heat during intensive tasks like gaming.

This would improve comfort during use and maintain long-term performance.

The event invite has fueled these rumors further: the animated Apple logo resembles a heat map, with swirling red and blue colors - possibly hinting at the new thermal design.

4. New wallpaper collection teased

Apple has a history of hiding clues about upcoming iPhone wallpapers in its event graphics. For instance, the September 2023 invite featured design elements that inspired the iPhone 15 Pro’s wallpapers.

This year’s invite, with its dynamic blue-orange swirl and heat-map-like visuals, suggests that the iPhone 17 will include dark-themed, animated wallpapers with similar effects.

On Apple’s homepage, the logo even features interactive effects - when users hover or tap on it, the colors shift and swirl. This could be a hint at a new generation of interactive wallpapers in iOS 26.

5. iOS 26 and Liquid Glass will take center stage

Another major highlight from the invite is the interactive logo, which mirrors the Liquid Glass design language coming with iOS 26.

Apple is expected to officially release iOS 26 shortly after the event, continuing its long-standing tradition.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Liquid Glass is not just a visual redesign for 2025 - it’s the foundation of a multi-year “super iPhone” cycle. This will include a foldable iPhone, likely launching soon, and a 20th anniversary iPhone in 2027 featuring an all-glass curved display inspired by the Liquid Glass UI.

It’s clear Apple wants to emphasize this transformation from the outset.

Apple invites are always filled with hidden meanings, and this year is no exception. From new color hints to thermal upgrades and Liquid Glass in iOS 26, Apple seems to be giving fans a preview of what’s ahead.

All will be confirmed on September 9. But judging from past experience, Apple may have already shown us a surprisingly detailed glimpse of the future.

The “Awe Dropping” event won’t just launch the iPhone 17. It may also mark the beginning of a sweeping new era of upgrades in design, color, cooling technology, and user interface. And based on what we’ve seen so far, Apple is more than ready to turn the page.
