This capacity would surpass the current iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 4,823mAh battery, marking a significant step up, particularly for a company known for its emphasis on thin and lightweight design.

The iPhone Fold is rumored to adopt a book-style folding mechanism, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold. Apple is expected to unveil the device alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and the second-generation iPhone Air this September.

Compared to current foldables, the iPhone Fold would lead in battery size. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold carries a 5,015mAh cell. Even the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 is only rumored to reach 5,000mAh.

Meanwhile, Google’s next-gen Pixel 11 Pro Fold might stretch from 5,100mAh up to 6,000mAh, according to early speculation. That would rival the Vivo X Fold 5 5G, which currently holds the battery crown in this form factor.

The battery size leap is reportedly enabled by Apple’s use of cutting-edge Silicon-Carbon (Si/C) battery technology. Si/C offers a higher energy density than traditional lithium-ion, allowing for greater capacity without increasing the device’s thickness significantly.

Leaked specs indicate the iPhone Fold will feature a 7.8-inch interior display with an almost crease-free finish - something Apple is said to have refined for years. The external display measures 5.5 inches, ideal for quick tasks when the device is folded.

The body is expected to be 9mm thick when folded and just 4.5mm when open - possibly the thinnest foldable yet in its class.

The device may carry four cameras: one on the external screen, two rear sensors, and one under-display front camera. Apple could also reintroduce Touch ID, integrating it into the power button, ditching Face ID to save space.

Under the hood, the iPhone Fold is expected to be powered by the A20 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM - suggesting top-tier performance for years to come.

The anticipated price? Between $2,000 and $2,500 - setting a new high for any iPhone to date.

More than just a new product, Apple’s iPhone Fold appears poised to redefine the foldable smartphone segment, challenging long-time leaders like Samsung and Google not just in aesthetics or performance, but in endurance and engineering boldness.
