Last weekend, hundreds of tourists flocked to Ba Vi National Park - the "green lung" in the west of Hanoi to witness the floating sea of clouds that appears at dawn. Unlike the city center, the temperature here is very cool from the previous evening until around 9am the next day. The air is fresh, often likened to Ta Xua (Son La) or Da Lat (Lam Dong).

From April to October each year, Ba Vi becomes an ideal "escape from the heat" destination for tourists. In recent days, a white sea of clouds has continuously appeared, creating a poetic and romantic scene.

On the morning of July 14, Vuong Loc from Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, an avid photographer, traveled from 3am to reach Ba Vi National Park in time for sunrise.

"I left at 3am and reached the entrance of Ba Vi National Park at 5am. At that time, many young people were already there, lining up to buy tickets. By 5:30am, the sea of clouds began to appear near the 1,100-meter elevation area," Loc shared.

"If we compare, the clouds in Ta Xua are thicker and more floating. However, Ba Vi has the advantage of quick and convenient travel. In the morning, the air in Ba Vi is cool and pleasant, very different from the stuffy heat in the city center. Coming here feels like arriving in Da Lat," Loc said.

Ba Vi National Park is about 60 kilometers from downtown Hanoi. Visitors can drive along Thang Long Avenue or via National Highway 32. If taking the bus, choose route 74 My Dinh - Xuan Khanh and route 71 My Dinh - Son Tay Bus Station, then transfer to bus 110 to reach Ba Vi National Park.

Hai Duong from Ung Hoa district, Hanoi, had visited Ba Vi National Park four times, but July 14 was the first time he saw the sea of clouds. Duong also traveled from 3am to catch the sunrise.

"The weather was very beautiful in the morning, cool with a white sea of clouds, creating an ideal setting for tourists to view and take photos. Unfortunately, there was a light rain near noon, so our group couldn't stay to enjoy more," Duong said.

According to the experiences of successful "cloud hunters" in Ba Vi, the sea of clouds often appears if it rained the previous day and the weather forecast for the day is sunny. Luck is also a very important factor.

The national park features various attractions such as an abandoned, moss-covered ancient church that has a mysterious charm, or the cactus glasshouse. Visitors can also combine visits to Khoang Xanh - Suoi Tien, Ao Vua, Thien Son - Suoi Nga. Khoang Xanh features many patches of old-growth forest and over 2 kilometers of natural streams like Mo waterfall, Hoa waterfall, Tran waterfall, and Mam Xoi waterfall.

Currently, accommodation services in Ba Vi are quite developed, ranging from budget to luxury. Visitors can camp among the pine forests or rent at resorts like Melia Bavi Mountain Retreat, Tan Da Spa Resort, Bavi Annam Garden, and Madela Ba Vi - Nha ben suoi.
