Located approximately 30 kilometers from Hanoi’s city center, the Binh Minh Quarry in Quoc Oai District has recently emerged as a favorite spot for those seeking adventure and tranquility.
This destination is known for its unspoiled landscape, tranquil atmosphere, a small central lake, lush green grass, and gently rolling hills.
Being in the suburbs, the area offers fresh and cool air, making it an ideal weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Chu Danh Hieu, a Hanoi resident born in 2002, first visited Binh Minh Quarry after hearing about it from a friend in Quoc Oai. Hieu has since returned twice, most recently in late October, spending a day exploring and camping overnight.
“I was particularly impressed by the nighttime scenery at the quarry,” he shared.
“Because it’s far from the city center, the area is free from pollution, making it an ideal location for stargazing and enjoying the night sky. From the quarry, visitors can also look out and admire the romantic, twinkling lights of the city in the distance,” Hieu added.
Hieu described the journey to Binh Minh Quarry as straightforward. It is accessible by personal vehicles such as cars or motorbikes.
“The route to the site is mostly paved and easy to navigate. Only the last 100 meters near the campsite is a bit rocky, but it’s still manageable,” he noted.
As a newly popular destination, Binh Minh Quarry currently lacks any tourism services. Visitors planning to stay overnight need to bring essential camping equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, lighting, food, and drinks.
Hieu mentioned that the area is conveniently located near a local market, so travelers can purchase additional supplies if needed.
To maintain the environment, visitors are reminded not to litter or start fires indiscriminately and to clean up before leaving.
“The quarry is an abandoned site with no staff or management. Visitors must be cautious, especially around the lake and rocky areas, to ensure safety while exploring or taking photos,” Hieu emphasized.
For those visiting Binh Minh Quarry, Hieu suggested combining the trip with a visit to Suoi Mu, another interesting spot nearby.
Binh Minh Quarry offers a tranquil escape with its small lake and surrounding hills.
Visitors camping at the quarry can enjoy stunning views of the night sky and city lights.
The path to the Binh Minh Quarry is mostly paved, making it accessible by car or motorbike.
The lush greenery and quiet surroundings make Binh Minh Quarry an ideal “healing” destination.
