After the training class, attendants made field trips to several sucessfully farming establishments in Binh Phuoc province.

On October 5-6, in Thanh Hoa commune, Bu Dop district, Binh Phuoc province, Regiment 717 (Army Corps 16) coordinated with the Agricultural Service Center of Bu Dop District to organize a training session on breeding buffalo and cow raising techniques for local people.

After the training class, attendants made field trips to several sucessfully farming establishments in Binh Phuoc province.

This is considered practical activities to well implement the Project on mobilizing all investment resources for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas under the national target program for social-economic development ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021 - 2030, phase I, from 2021 to 2025.

At the training class, 184 poor, near-poor, newly-escaped poverty households, and households with extremely difficult circumstances were supported to participate in projects under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2023.

During the training session, experts introduced and conveyed to people in the two districts of Bu Dop and Loc Ninh the basic knowledge and skills on techniques to raise breeding buffaloes and cows such as selecting breeds, breeding techniques, types of food, how to prepare and store food, techniques for raising pregnant buffaloes, cows and others.

In addition, attendants also had a chance to visit the effective buffalo and cow farming model applied by Mr. Ma Van Sy's family in Thanh Trung hamlet, Thanh Binh town and the model applied by Thanh Hoa Commune Cow Raising Cooperative in Bu Dop district.

This was the chance for them to learn valuable experiences in building livestock barns; hygienic measures to prevent disease, vaccination, proactive prevention of infectious diseases; pathogens, symptoms, manifestations, prevention and treatment when buffaloes and cows get sick; supplement vitamins and mineral salts for buffaloes and cows...

A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bu Dop district said that the training class was organized to help households in the border areas of Bu Dop and Loc Ninh districts gain more knowledge to improve efficiency in farming, to promote the application of scientific and technical advances in buffalo and cow breeding, contributing to economic development, poverty reduction, and stabilizing family life.

In 2022, implementing the Socio-Economic Development Project (the model called soldiers associated with ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the South Dak Lak Defense Economic Zone, Binh Phuoc), the Regiment 717 (Army Corps 16) presented 15 buffalos, 23 cows, 44 goats to 49 households in Bu Dop district and Loc An commune of Loc Ninh district. This is practical work to help border people develop production, create jobs, increase income, improve their lives, and escape poverty sustainably.

After the training session, Regiment 717 will present 97 breeding buffaloes and 95 breeding cows to 192 poor, near-poor, newly escaped poverty households, and households with extremely difficult circumstances in the two districts of Bu Dop and Loc Ninh.
