According to a report from the police, Tran Kim took the bus from a garage in Ham Lien Commune on the early morning of May 1. While he was driving on National Road 28 to Phan Thiet City, he lost control and crashed into some signboards and a motorbike on the pavement. The bus was slightly damaged.

Kim got off the bus and fled. However, police found him on May 2 following security cameras in the area.

Police also found that Tran Kim had previously stolen two trucks on April 3 and March 20 in Phan Thiet and Nha Trang cities and was arrested when trying to sell the vehicles. He was then released due to his age.

Binh Thuan Police are further investigating the case.
