On the evening of June 2, authorities in Son Kim 1 Commune confirmed that a tragic drowning accident had claimed the lives of four relatives.

At around 5:45 p.m., Pham Thi Hong Nh. (born 1991), a resident of Duc Tho Commune, took her daughter, Nguyen Thuy D. (born 2021), to visit relatives in Son Kim 2 Commune.

Later, she, her daughter and two nieces and nephews - Pham Quynh A. (born 2014) and Pham Minh Th. (born 2016) - went to the Ngan Pho River near Vung Tron Village in Son Kim 1 Commune for a swim.

While they were using a boat on the river, it suddenly overturned, causing all four victims to drown.

Immediately after receiving reports of the incident, local authorities and rescue forces rushed to the scene to conduct search and recovery operations and determine the cause of the accident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
