The charity event was jointly organised by the Ho Chi Minh City municipal People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA), with the function held at Tan Thuan export processing zone in District 7.
The purpose of the occasion was to serve breakfast to more than 2,000 workers after joining a walking event which sought to raise fund for poor workers based in the southern city.
The organisers prepared 10 pots, including 1,000 liters of water for this special breakfast.
Around 44kg of beef, 26.4kg of vegetables, 26.4kg of raw sprouts, and 69.5kg of ingredients such as lemon, onion, and pepper were used for cooking 2,126 bowls of Pho. Notably, a total of 80 chefs took part in the event.
The successful attempt marked a new record in both the nation and the world for having the largest number of bowls of Pho, as recognised by the Vietnam Records Organisation (VietKings) and the World Records Union (WorldKings), respectively.
