Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy emphasized that in recent years, Cao Bang province has ensured harmony between development needs and conservation, preserving the landscape and values of the Global Geopark.

The province has completed investment in construction and put into operation 4 tourist routes to the Global Geopark; preserving and promoting the values of geological heritage and indigenous culture; protecting the environment and landscape according to the criteria and recommendations of UNESCO experts; thereby, contributing to ensuring harmony between economic development goals and preserving and promoting national cultural heritage and identity.

In tourism development, the title of Global Geopark helps promote Cao Bang tourism brand domestically and internationally. Thereby, Cao Bang province's tourism industry has developed strongly in the total number of visitors and revenue, creating a solid basis and foundation towards implementing the goal of the Resolution of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term: striving to make tourism a key economic sector of Cao Bang.

At the meeting held in December 2022, the UNESCO Council passed the decision to continue recognizing the title of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark after the first re-evaluation period. This result confirms Cao Bang province's efforts in preserving the values of the park according to the criteria and recommendations of UNESCO experts.

Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark was recognized by UNESCO on April 12, 2018. The park has an area of more than 3,683 square kilometers. The park has many unique geological heritage sites, and many famous landscapes such as Ban Gioc waterfall, Mat Than mountain... along with beautiful, majestic natural landscapes and unique cultural identity of local ethnic people.

To promote the values and identities of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark, attract tourists, develop tourism, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week of Cao Bang province 2023 will take place from September 27 to October 3 with many activities: (1) The 28th Northwest - Viet Bac Region III Fine Arts Exhibition; (2) Demonstration of Intangible Cultural Heritage; (3) Paragliding performances; (4) Display of OCOP products, typical local specialties and demonstration of food preparation; (5) folk dance performances with the participation of 3,000 people at Kim Dong walking street and a number of local and expanded sports tournaments.

This is an opportunity to review and be proud of the land and people of Cao Bang with 524 years of history and 73 years of liberation, to further appreciate and be grateful for the great contributions and sacrifices of many generations, of the outstanding people of Cao Bang. At the same time, it is an opportunity to propagate and promote geological values, heritage, natural landscape, history and culture to friends and domestic and international tourists; enhance exchanges to seek cooperation opportunities and attract investment resources from organizations and businesses; strengthen responsibility and mobilize the active participation of the political system and the people in preserving and promoting heritage and culture, contributing to building a developed Cao Bang.

In addition, there is the Art Exhibition of Region 3 (Northwestern and Viet Bac region) in Cao Bang city, an intangible cultural heritage demonstration site on Kim Dong walking street, Cao Bang city. Coming here, visitors will have a chance to enjoy performances by artisans who will make Tinh musical instruments, perform Then singing and ancient tuong. They can also experience paragliding in Cao Bang city, with the participation of Vietnamese and foreign pilots.

During the week, there are also many other activities, such as the photo exhibition "Colors of Cao Bang", booths introducing OCOP products, local specialties and demonstration of food preparation, the 3rd Cao Bang City Table Tennis Open Tournament.

Among them, the most exciting and attractive activity of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week of Cao Bang province 2023 is the folk-dance performance with the participation of 3,000 people at Kim Dong walking street. The event aims to set a record for the number of people wearing ethnic costumes performing folk dance. Through the event, the local authorities wish to promote and attract a large number of people, domestic and foreign tourists to Cao Bang city.
