Here, banh can costs just VND5,000 ($0.19) for eight pieces, banh uot is VND3,000 ($0.11) per plate, and banh xeo is sold for VND2,500 ($0.09) each. Sweet desserts are typically priced between VND3,000 and VND5,000 ($0.11-$0.19) per serving.

Beyond snacks, hearty dishes such as fish cake noodle soup, pork offal porridge, banh canh and crab noodle soup are available for only VND10,000-15,000 ($0.38-$0.57) per bowl, generously prepared with meat, fish cakes and fresh vegetables.

The market opens daily from 5 a.m. until noon. Visitors hoping to sample a variety of dishes are advised to arrive early.

Situated along the northern tourism route of the former Phu Yen Province, Giai Son Market can easily be combined with visits to well-known attractions including Bai Xep Beach - famous as a filming location for the movie Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass - as well as Hon Yen, O Loan Lagoon, Ghenh Da Dia, Ong Cop Wooden Bridge and Mang Lang Church.

Phuong Cuu Market, Khanh Hoa

Phuong Cuu Market, located in Ninh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, lies about 15km from the center of the former city of Phan Rang - Thap Cham.

In addition to enjoying meals on-site, travelers can purchase local specialties to take home, including dried garlic and shallots, Ninh Thuan grapes, dried seafood such as semi-dried squid and anchovies, and locally produced salt.

Cash is recommended, especially small denominations, as many vendors do not accept bank cards or digital payments.

Chuon Village Market, Hue

Unlike many modern markets filled with noise and crowds, Chuon Village Market retains a simple charm, with vendors selling whatever they have produced or caught and a slower pace of daily trade.

The market sits beside Dam Chuon, a brackish-water lagoon covering more than 100 hectares. As a result, many stalls specialize in fresh seafood from the lagoon, including shrimp, squid and a variety of local fish species displayed in bamboo baskets, plastic tubs or on tarpaulin sheets.

Alongside fresh produce and agricultural goods, the market is also known for dishes such as turmeric noodles, mixed noodles, crab noodle soup, pork offal porridge and banh loc, priced between VND10,000 and VND25,000 ($0.38-$0.95).

Its most famous specialty is banh xeo ca kinh, also known as banh khoai ca kinh.

A serving typically costs between VND20,000 and VND30,000 ($0.76-$1.14), depending on the size of the fish and seasonal availability.

The fish has a rich, savory flavor and firm texture that pairs well with the thin, crispy rice batter. The slightly bitter yet nutty fish innards add complexity to the dish, while fresh mustard sprouts help balance the richness of the oil-fried pancake.

To witness one of the largest and most famous wholesale seafood markets in the former Quang Nam region, visitors should arrive between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The market is located around 50km from Hoi An Ancient Town.

Seafood offerings include threadfin bream, pomfret, mullet, tuna, anchovies, ribbonfish, mackerel, shrimp, crabs, swimming crabs, shellfish, baby squid and milk squid.

Prices are considered remarkably affordable, ranging from VND125,000 to VND230,000 ($4.76-$8.76) per kilogram depending on the type of seafood.
