China's National Health Commission has downgraded the Covid-19 response level, stopping mandatory isolation for passengers entering the country from January 8.
China will resume flights and travel abroad. Chinese nationals can enter and exit the country without facing Covid-19 restrictions that have been applied for the past three years.
Answering VietNamNet's question about Vietnam's response to China’s move, Deputy Foreign Ministry spokesman Pham Thu Hang said that Covid-19 has been basically under control worldwide.
Many countries have adjusted response policies to adapt safely and flexibly to the pandemic in order to protect people's health while creating conditions for production recovery, socio-economic development, restoring exchanges and cooperation between countries.
Vietnam has officially opened its border since March 15, 2022. Up to now, the country has welcomed 3.66 million international visitors.
The Deputy Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized: "Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with China. Along with China's application of new measures in disease prevention and travel, the epidemic situation that has been basically controlled in Vietnam, exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and China will be consolidated and enhanced, bringing practical benefits to the two sides, actively contributing to the recovery and development of the region after the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Vietnam is accelerating the implementation of the Government’s Resolution 128/ND-CP dated July 11, 2017 and Resolution No. 38/NQ-CP dated March 17, 2022 on promulgating the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control program, under which it will closely monitor the developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country and in the world to have timely, appropriate and flexible response solutions to the situation.
On December 30, 2022, the Ministry of Health issued Directive 06/CT-BYT on strengthening medical work to ensure safety for the Lunar New Year 2023.
