The Greenovation Challenge contest, aimed at seeking initiatives to solve plastic waste issues in Việt Nam, has been launched in Hà Nội.
The Greenovation Challenge contest is targeted at raising awareness of the youth on plastic waste issues, in addition to serving as a platform for students to come up with creative ideas towards community development.
The contest is targeted at raising awareness of the youth on plastic waste issues, in addition to serving as a platform for students to come up with creative ideas towards community development. The Greenovation Challenge calls on all students, the future leaders of the country, to jointly protect the environment.
The contest is open to all open to all Vietnamese students nationwide, aged 18-25, and those who have graduated university less than a year ago.
Contestants will work out on their initiative, which can be in the form of a product, service or integrated communication plan, to address the plastic waste issue in Việt Nam.
The contest, with the message Save a bottle. Shape our future, is co-organised by the Foreign Trade University, Hà Nội University of Science and Technology and International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Winner of the contest, who will receive a cash prize of VNĐ30 million (US$1,300), will be announced on September 30.
Việt Nam dumps some 1.8 tonnes of plastic waste into the ocean each year and currently is among the five countries in the world with the most plastic waste discharged into the ocean.
