The event, held at Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, has been an annual event since 2014 and is recognized as a premier gathering of global tourism professionals and travelers.

Collaborating with Vietnam Airlines, Da Nang’s Department of Tourism is leveraging this global platform to showcase the city's appeal to international visitors.

On September 26, Da Nang’s Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines, launched its promotional campaign at the expo, highlighting the city’s appeal as a destination for leisure, cultural tourism, and high-end experiences such as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and golf tourism.

The expo, which runs from September 26 to 29, is expected to draw more than 180,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors from over 80 countries and territories. The event features networking opportunities for businesses, travel seminars, destination press conferences, and public exhibitions.

Da Nang’s booth, titled "Danang FantastiCity & Vietnam Airlines," spans 36 square meters and is strategically located at booth R-197, alongside other prominent Asian destinations such as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This space serves as a hub for introducing Da Nang’s tourism offerings and as the main venue for meetings between co-exhibitors and potential partners.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at Da Nang’s booth was attended by Nguyen Duc Minh, Counselor at the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, and Ito Kazuhiro, Director of the International Center of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), along with other business representatives.

During the expo, Da Nang’s tourism leaders will hold meetings with Japanese travel associations, businesses, and media partners to strengthen the city’s visibility in Japan. Their focus includes promoting Da Nang’s beach resorts, cultural tourism, MICE events, luxury golf, and educational tours.

Japan has long been a key source market for Da Nang’s tourism industry. In the first eight months of 2024, Da Nang welcomed 121,000 Japanese visitors, matching the total number for the entire year of 2023. Vietnam Airlines continues to support this trend, operating a weekly flight route between Narita and Da Nang, with seven flights per week.
