The province seeks to offer high-quality, competitive, and culturally distinctive tourism products while ensuring environmental sustainability. This aligns with its goal of becoming a top tourist destination in the northern midland and mountainous regions of Vietnam.

Hoa Binh, regarded as the cradle of ancient Vietnamese civilization, is deeply tied to the renowned Muong regions: Bi, Vang, Thang, and Dong. Its vibrant community festivals and rich cultural heritage provide unique opportunities for developing community-based tourism.

1. Lac Village, Chieng Chau Commune, Mai Chau District

With over 700 years of history, Lac Village is a favorite among domestic and international tourists. Visitors can admire picturesque landscapes, traditional stilt houses of the Thai ethnic group, and savor local delicacies. Activities such as folk singing, bamboo dancing, and weaving brocade offer an immersive cultural experience.

2. Luy Ai Village, Phong Phu Commune, Tan Lac District

Nestled in a serene valley surrounded by hills and streams, Luy Ai is home to over 50 traditional stilt houses of the Muong people. Visitors can explore cultural treasures like the Birth of Land and Water epic, while enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.

3. Bich Tru Hamlet, Thai Thinh Commune, Hoa Binh City

Perched on a hillside, Bich Tru offers panoramic views and retains the traditional stilt houses and customs of the Muong community. Guests can enjoy cycling, trekking, and local dishes such as grilled fish, sour bamboo shoots with chicken, and steamed vegetables. Nearby attractions include the Giang Waterfall and other cultural and spiritual sites.

4. Ke Hamlet, Hien Luong Commune, Da Bac District

Located in Hien Luong Bay, this hamlet houses 112 Muong families. Visitors can engage in activities like rafting, kayaking, and fish farming, as well as exploring nearby temples and waterfalls.

5. Sung Hamlet, Cao Son Commune, Da Bac District

Situated at 530 meters above sea level, Sung Hamlet is surrounded by terraced fields and majestic mountains. It is home to 75 households of the Dao Tien ethnic group. Visitors can join locals in farming, fishing, and cooking traditional meals.

6. Tien Hamlet, Thung Nai Commune, Cao Phong District

Close to Hoa Binh Lake, Tien Hamlet features over 40 traditional turtle-style stilt houses of the Muong people. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture and visit nearby attractions like Thac Bo Temple, Dua Island, and Ngoi Hoa Hamlet.

Hoa Binh Province continues to prioritize sustainable tourism development by leveraging its unique cultural and natural resources. With investments in infrastructure and efforts to preserve traditional lifestyles, the community-based tourism model provides both economic opportunities and cultural preservation.
