A wedding video featuring a bride in Dong Thap Province wearing a golden crown and layers of gold jewelry has gone viral on social media, attracting nearly 600,000 views in just a few days.
The one-minute video shows the bride adorned with dozens of large, intricately crafted gold necklaces that were looped together to fit around her neck. Her wrists and fingers were also covered in gold bracelets and rings, giving her a dazzling appearance that captured public fascination.
The video sparked over 15,000 “likes” and thousands of comments, with netizens jokingly calling the bride the first to “open the golden wedding season of 2026” and comparing the couple’s wedding gifts to “starting life at the finish line.”

The bride and groom were identified as Huong Tham, 23, and Cong Danh, 26, both from Dong Thap. Their wedding ceremony took place on January 7.
Speaking to VietNamNet, groom Cong Danh shared that the couple received nearly 30 taels of gold (approximately 1.1 kilograms) and three land title deeds as wedding gifts from their families. The bride’s side gifted a plot of garden land, while the groom’s family presented two street-front houses.
The crown worn by the bride was also a gift from the groom’s family. Made from nearly 1.5 taels of gold, it was specially crafted to welcome her into the family with love and honor.
“We had no idea what the families had prepared, so everything came as a huge surprise,” Danh said. “We felt overwhelmed and deeply grateful for the love and generosity from both sides.”
Danh added that his family runs a business, while Tham’s family is in agriculture. The meaningful gifts were intended as a way to give the young couple a strong foundation for building a future together.
The couple’s love story began in high school, and they spent eight years together before tying the knot. Though both come from families with established businesses, the newlyweds have chosen to pursue their own path and build careers independently.
