Groom in Hung Yen breaks down remembering his late mother

On April 13, during his wedding, Tran Van Tien (born 1997, from Hung Yen) was seen choking back tears while lighting incense at the family altar before heading to the bride’s house.

His mother had passed away from stomach cancer two years earlier. Her absence made the biggest day of his life feel incomplete.

What broke him, however, was his sister’s quiet whisper as she pinned a flower to his suit: “It should have been Mom doing this for you.”

Tien shared that his mother had worked tirelessly all her life to raise him. She had always hoped to see her son build a home and get married, but illness claimed her before that dream came true.

From a young age, he had helped raise pigs and cows and collected recyclables to earn money. Over time, he saved enough to buy gold.

At the wedding of Nguyen Quang Nhut (born 1997, from Dong Nai) and Nguyen Minh Thu (born 1997, from Lam Dong), held on November 30, guests fell silent as the groom’s older brother offered a blessing in sign language.

Vu Thien (born 1994), who is deaf, took the stage and signed heartfelt memories of childhood and a moving message:

“I wish you both happiness, growing old together on the same path.”

As Thien signed, Nhut translated aloud for the guests.
