Da Lat artichokes
The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong recently hosted a competition that set a Vietnamese record of 100 delicious dishes made from Da Lat artichokes.
In early April, the Asian Records Organisation recognized nine new Asian records for Vietnamese dishes and groups of dishes/ specialties, including Da Lat artichokes.
Artichokes have been cultivated in Da Lat for nearly a century. The city currently boasts over 100 hectares of artichoke farms.
Lam Dong Coffee
Lam Dong is a large coffee growing region in Vietnam with many world-famous varieties. The most famous coffee brand of Lam Dong is Cau Dat Arabica.
Thanks to the suitable climate and soil conditions, Arabica coffee in Cau Dat - Lam Dong region has very high quality, comparable to the quality of the best Arabica coffee in the world.
When coming to Lam Dong, especially Da Lat, tourists should experience sidewalk coffee spots. Instead of using a filter, pure coffee is put into a small rack or thin bag, dipped into a boiling pot to release all the essence, and then poured into a cup.
Da Lat persimmon
The persimmon season in Da Lat and some neighboring areas in Lam Dong usually starts in September and lasts until the end of December. Visiting persimmon orchards during this time, in addition to taking the best pictures, tourists can also enjoy ripe persimmons on the spot.
In Da Lat, there are a few dozen varieties of persimmons. The ripe persimmons are dried, soaked in wine, or hung in the air so that tourists can easily buy them as gifts.
Laba banana
Laba bananas are known as "bananas for the king", grown widely in Don Duong, Duc Trong and Lam Ha districts in Lam Dong province. This species is recognized by the Intellectual Property Department under the Ministry of Science and Technology as a specialty product of Lam Dong.
This banana is appreciated by importers from Japan, the UAE, and Korea.
