Dinh Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan An Ward, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province, confirmed the fire, which caused significant damage to dozens of electric vehicles.

At around 5am, employees noticed thick smoke and flames emerging from a corner of the parking lot belonging to Hoi An Electric Vehicle Company Ltd. (No. 5 Le Van Hien Street, Tan An Ward). Despite using mini fire extinguishers, their efforts to contain the blaze were unsuccessful.

Upon receiving the emergency call, dozens of officers and firefighters from the North Quang Nam Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, along with four fire engines, quickly arrived at the scene. The fire was mostly under control by 6am.

During the initial outbreak, some nearby school staff helped move four vehicles out of harm's way. However, 21 vehicles were completely destroyed by the fire.

This is the second major fire involving electric vehicles in the ancient town of Hoi An within a short period. On May 8, a fire at the Central Electric Power College (also in Tan An Ward) destroyed 40 electric tourist vehicles.

The recurrence of such incidents in such a short time frame has raised significant concerns regarding the safety protocols and maintenance of electric tourist vehicles in Hoi An.
