As the weekend approached, these streets became dazzling with colors, drawing thousands of visitors. On the night of September 27, all roads leading to the area were jammed with pedestrians.
Foreign tourists were also spotted in large numbers, unbothered by the dense crowds. Some stopped to take photos or soak in the lively scenes.
Amanda and her husband from Australia, visiting on a friend’s recommendation, were captivated by the energy and vibrant colors of the streets. The couple held hands the entire time to avoid getting separated in the crowd.
Aisha, another visitor, sampled local street snacks such as salted dracontomelon and mango salad while strolling along Hang Ma Street. “The weather is cool today. Walking through these few streets is the perfect activity. Everyone here is warm and welcoming,” she shared.
A young local woman named Chi cheerfully wandered the streets, enjoying the fresh air and the festive atmosphere. “Every Mid-Autumn Festival, I take time with friends and family to stroll around and enjoy the buzz. I went out a week early this year and was still surprised by how crowded it is,” Chi said.
Families with children and groups of young people formed the bulk of the crowd at the Old Quarter’s Mid-Autumn Festival market. From 9 PM onward, the area became even more packed.
Thanh Huyen and her daughter traveled 25 kilometers from Me Linh to shop for toys and enjoy the weekend atmosphere. “Even though our home is far, I still want to bring my daughter here to experience the magical lights and excitement,” she said.
The jam-packed streets of Hang Ma are a familiar sight every evening in the days leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
