Foreign travelers are looking forward to hearing the news about Vietnam’s reopening but many still cannot make a decision because of the lack of information.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has proposed that international arrivals to Vietnam should be able to avoid any quarantine requirements, providing they are fully vaccinated, 

Some advisory bodies have pointed out the medical rules discouraging foreign tourists from coming to Vietnam, stressing that foreign and domestic travellers should receive the same treatment.

With negative COVID-19 tests, fully vaccinated foreign tourists may freely travel in Vietnam after only one day of isolation following entry, according to the Ministry of Health’s proposed regulations.

The prime minister has urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reinstate the visa waiver for international travelers to revive the pandemic-battered tourism sector when tourism services for local and foreign visitors are fully reopened on March 15.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to complete plans on tourism resumption and devise a policy on visas for foreign tourists.

The volume of international tourists searching for travel information about Vietnam saw a sharp increase at the start of 2022, according to statistics released by Google Destination Insights.
