Agencies and organisations that do not implement a fixed work regime with two days off every weekend should rely on their specific plans to arrange a suitable holiday schedule, the ministry said.

Vietnam has mandated a total of 11 days off during public holidays in a year, including the two days off for the National Day holiday.

Employees who work on those holidays are entitled to at least 300 percent of their daily wage plus their salary on the day, according to the Labour Code.

Vietnamese workers are also enjoying five days off for the Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day holiday from April 27 to May 1. Public workers took April 29 off, but then will have to work on Saturday May 4.
