Doctor Nguyen Thi Diem Trinh at the HCM City Hospital of Dermato-Venereology said that they recently received a patient who was exhibiting stomachaches and Hematidrosis or blood sweating on her abdomen.

According to the girl's father, she started showing the symptoms in September 2021. At first there she appeared to be sweating blood on her abdomen, with the amount slowly increasing. She also experienced stomachaches. She was given health checkups at several hospitals but they found no problems with her internal organs.

"Talking with the father, we thought that she might have developed such symptoms due to psychological problems after a long time experiencing social distancing, the doctor said. "Her father said that she often looked depressed and wanted to always sleep with her parents. We decided to send her to a psychologist who found that she had anxiety disorders."

The girl was then given psychological treatment and gradually recovered. And after social distancing and she was allowed to meet friends and returned to school, she no longer has a stomach ache or sweating blood.

Doctor Diem Trinh said that blood sweating or hematohidrosis can occur when people are stressed or frightened. Those suffering from acute anxiety disorders are at greater risk of developing blood clots, which could lead to thrombosis or heart attacks.
