Social media buzzed with photos and videos of dazzling weddings, where brides wore layers of gold necklaces and bracelets. These viral moments captivated netizens and became the talk of the town for weeks on end.

Nghe An bride receives nearly 15 taels of gold

In February 2025, the wedding of Quynh Huong (born 1997) and Ngoc Khanh (born 1996), both from Nghe An province, made headlines for the sheer scale of its wedding gifts. The couple received nearly 15 taels of gold (roughly 562 grams) from both families, along with a generous amount of cash.

A video captured the moment relatives showered the bride and groom with gold jewelry. Quynh Huong was seen wearing gold necklaces stacked around her neck, while her groom also flaunted multiple gold pieces around his neck and wrists. The clip drew hundreds of thousands of views at the time.

Quynh Huong admitted she was overwhelmed by the gifts, as neither side had informed the couple beforehand.

During the wedding, the couple publicly announced they would donate 300 million VND (approximately 12,400 USD) to support those in need. The donation came from their personal savings and moved many attendees and viewers online.

Bride from An Giang gifted over 20 taels of gold

At a wedding ceremony held at the bride’s home in April 2025, Nguyen Hoa from An Giang received lavish gifts from her in-laws, including over 20 taels of gold (around 750 grams), 100 million VND (about 4,130 USD) in cash, and an additional 100 million VND and 1 tael of gold from her own parents.

Nguyen Hoa shared that the ancestral ritual ceremony lasted around two hours, with the gold-giving segment alone taking more than 30 minutes.

A video showing her covered in gold jewelry circulated widely on social media, garnering hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of likes.

Doll-like bride crowned with 10 taels of gold

In June 2025, Hứa My Linh from Ho Chi Minh City caught the internet’s attention with her doll-like beauty and a custom-made golden crown. Footage of her sparkling appearance went viral on social media.

My Linh shared that she and her husband received valuable gifts from both sides, including 1 billion VND (approximately 41,300 USD) in cash, three land titles, and jewelry made of gold and diamonds.

Among these, the golden crown-crafted from 10 taels of gold (about 375 grams)-was especially meaningful. It was a gift from her mother, who works in the jewelry industry. Wanting to offer her daughter a one-of-a-kind wedding gift, she designed a meticulously detailed crown especially for the occasion.

My Linh and her husband met in mid-2022, officially started dating six months later, and got engaged in 2024 with a romantic proposal on a pedestrian street in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ca Mau bride receives wedding gifts worth 20 billion VND

The wedding of Ngoc Thien from Ca Mau went viral in June 2025. A video of the bride in traditional wedding attire, adorned with layers of gold jewelry, surrounded by stacks of cash, gemstones, and land titles on display, drew 1.8 million views on TikTok within two days.

It was reported that the total value of gifts from both families amounted to 20 billion VND (around 826,000 USD).

As her husband is Chinese, Ngoc Thien chose to wear a traditional Chinese wedding outfit instead of the Vietnamese ao dai during the ancestral ceremony. She hoped the wedding would reflect both cultures in harmony.
