Class 9A5 at Le Van Thiem Secondary School in Ha Tinh has drawn attention after 33 students were admitted to Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, including two students who achieved the highest entrance scores in specialized Mathematics and History.
Speaking to VietNamNet, homeroom teacher Phan Thi Le Trang said she received a wave of good news after the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training announced examination results and provisional admission scores. Many of her students had secured places at the province's leading specialized high school.
Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted is widely recognized for its academic achievements and has produced numerous national prize winners and international medalists over the years.
Thirty-three admissions from a single class

According to the school, 40 students from Class 9A5 sat the entrance examination for Hà Tĩnh High School for the Gifted. Of those, 33 were admitted, representing an 85% success rate.
The class recorded a total of 34 admissions because one student gained entry to both the specialized Mathematics and specialized English streams.
Specifically, 11 students were admitted to specialized Mathematics, four to Literature, five to English, six to Chemistry, two to Informatics, two to Chinese, one to Physics, one to French and one to History.
Several students achieved outstanding entrance scores.
Tran Dang Khoa ranked first in the specialized Mathematics stream with a Mathematics exam score of 7.25 and a total score of 50.75. He also placed third in the specialized English stream with a subject score of 7.75 and a total score of 52.25.
Meanwhile, Phan Thi Minh Tam earned the highest score in the specialized History stream with a total of 52.75 points.
Strong academic record beyond entrance exams

In this year's Grade 10 admissions cycle, Class 9A5 achieved average scores of 8.76 in Mathematics, 8.7 in Literature and 9.36 in English.
According to teacher Phan Thi Le Trang, the class recorded the highest combined average across the three examination subjects in Ha Tinh Province.
The class also delivered impressive results in the recent provincial academic excellence competition, with 23 students winning prizes, including several first and second prizes in Mathematics, Literature and English.
"When I learned that the students had been admitted to the specialized classes of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, I was very happy, though not entirely surprised," Trang said. "Class 9A5 is a united group of students. They are ambitious, determined to improve themselves and eager to prove their abilities. Today's results reflect the persistent efforts of both teachers and students throughout many years of study."
She said the class's success was the result of many factors, including family support, the dedication of subject teachers and strong backing from the school leadership.
"The most important factor remains the students' determination to overcome challenges, their spirit of perseverance and their desire to pursue knowledge," she added.
Le Van Thiem Secondary School operates under a high-quality education model and selects students through a province-wide competency assessment examination.
The school has long ranked among Ha Tinh's leading secondary schools in terms of academic excellence and admission rates to Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted.
This year alone, the school recorded 139 admissions to specialized classes, including four students who achieved the highest entrance scores in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and History.
