The Hanoi People’s Council has elected Do Anh Tuan, chairman of the municipal Party Committee’s Inspection Commission, and Bui Duy Cuong, director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, as vice chairmen of the Hanoi People’s Committee for the 2026-2031 term.

The appointments were approved during the second session of the 17th Hanoi People’s Council on the morning of May 11 as part of a personnel proposal submitted by the municipal administration.

With a majority of delegates voting in favor, the council officially endorsed the two appointments.

The leadership of the Hanoi People’s Committee now includes Chairman Vu Dai Thang and six vice chairmen: Duong Duc Tuan, Nguyen Xuan Luu, Do Anh Tuan, Bui Duy Cuong, Vu Thu Ha and Truong Viet Dung.

Do Anh Tuan was born in 1971 and is originally from Hai Tien Commune in Ninh Binh Province.

He holds university degrees in economics as well as civil and industrial construction.

Throughout his career, he held multiple leadership positions in the former Tay Ho District, including vice chairman of the district People’s Committee, chairman of the district People’s Committee, secretary of the district Party Committee and chairman of the district People’s Council.

He later served as director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, head of the municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission and head of its Internal Affairs Commission.

Since November 2025, he has served as chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Inspection Commission.

Bui Duy Cuong was born in 1973 and hails from Nam Dong Hung Commune in Hung Yen Province.

He is professionally trained as a hydraulic engineering specialist.

He previously served as deputy director and later director of the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, secretary of the former Soc Son District Party Committee and chairman of the Soc Son People’s Council.

Since February 2026, he has been director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment.
