Over 186,000 readers of the leading travel magazine Travel + Leisure participated in a survey covering hotels, resorts, cruises, and cities for the World’s Best Awards 2024.

Both Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and Capella Hanoi made the list with a score of 96.6. Travel + Leisure noted that these hotels offer unique culinary and cultural experiences.

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and Capella Hanoi have frequently received accolades from prestigious global travel awards. They are also popular choices for many famous visitors to Vietnam.

In June, during his state visit to Vietnam, Russian President Vladimir Putin stayed at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. In April, Apple CEO Tim Cook also chose to stay at this hotel while visiting Hanoi.

Previously, the hotel has hosted former US President George W. Bush, former French President Francois Hollande, former Swiss President, and former US President Donald Trump.

The hotel’s architecture is luxurious, featuring 358 rooms. The most opulent room is the Grand Prestige Suite, also known as the Presidential Suite, spanning 176 square meters. It includes a comfortable lobby, main bedroom, bathroom, private spa, and dining room for eight guests.

In contrast to the long-established Sofitel Legend Metropole, Capella Hanoi is a new brand that launched in 2021. This five-star hotel has hosted the famous K-pop group BlackPink. Its high-end rooms can cost up to 100 million VND (nearly $4,000) per night.

The hotel is located near the Hanoi Opera House and features unique Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley. It recreates a luxurious inn for famous artists and composers during the golden age of opera in the 1920s.

Capella Hanoi has seven floors with 47 rooms. Each room is named after famous actors, singers, and playwrights in the opera world, such as Sarah Bernhardt, Eleonora Duse, and Lina Cavalieri.

One of the highlights of Capella Hanoi is its Michelin-starred restaurant, Hibana by Koki, a Japanese restaurant serving teppanyaki cuisine.

This year, Park Hyatt Siem Reap (Cambodia) topped the "20 Best City Hotels in Asia" list with a score of 99.4.

Travel + Leisure readers also voted Hoi An as one of the world's top five cities in 2024. With a score of 90.67, it ranked 4th among the 25 best cities worldwide. In the list of the 25 most popular cities in Asia, Hoi An ranked 3rd.

In the category of the top five resorts in Southeast Asia, three representatives from Vietnam are Alma Cam Ranh, New World Phu Quoc, and Hyatt Regency Danang. Alma achieved the highest score of 99.2, while the representatives from Phu Quoc and Danang ranked 4th and 5th, respectively.
