Hanoi Police on Sept. 2 officially launched three digital transformation products: the “Smart Hanoi Police” app, a UAV-based security and public order surveillance solution, and a wireless fire alarm system.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, director of Hanoi Police, stressed that digital transformation is not simply about applying technology to professional operations. It is also a breakthrough solution for building a clean, strong, professional, elite and modern capital police force, with public safety and satisfaction serving as measures of effectiveness.

The “Smart Hanoi Police” app is expected to become a two-way communication channel between the police and residents. Through the app, people can report security and public order issues and gain more convenient access to certain administrative procedures.

Meanwhile, UAVs will enhance aerial surveillance capabilities, helping authorities detect and respond early to traffic and urban order problems, hotspots and complex incidents, while supporting command and operational management.

The wireless fire alarm system is designed to optimize costs and make early fire warning technology more accessible to households and small businesses, helping reduce potential losses.

Hanoi Police are also accelerating a project to install 21,671 AI-powered cameras to support security and public order operations and help address five major bottlenecks facing the city.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung called on police units to emphasize the responsibility of their leaders and implement the projects with clearly assigned personnel, tasks, timelines, responsibilities and deliverables.

Police units were also instructed to guide residents in using the app, expand the wireless fire alarm model to residential areas and individual households, and roll out the second phase of the UAV project.

The launch of the three products on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day reflects Hanoi Police’s determination to advance digital transformation and build a force that is “closest to the people,” contributing to a capital that is cultured, civilized, modern, secure, safe and peaceful.
