A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 26 for Becamex's social housing development, which will provide 6,229 apartments to meet the housing needs of local workers while contributing to social welfare.
The development includes four high-rise residential projects located in Chanh Hiep, Thuan Giao and An Phu wards in Ho Chi Minh City.
The projects comprise:
Dinh Hoa Zone 3 Social Welfare Housing (Phase 1), featuring three 20-story buildings with 1,178 apartments.
Dinh Hoa Zone 4 Social Welfare Housing, consisting of eight 20-story buildings with 3,190 apartments.
Viet Sing Zone 2 Social Housing, including two 22-story buildings with 923 apartments.
Viet Sing Zone 7 Social Housing, comprising two 22-story buildings with 938 apartments.
Once completed, the four projects will deliver a total of 6,229 social housing units, increasing the supply of affordable homes for low-income residents and beneficiaries eligible under Vietnam's social housing policies.
Notably, around 1,000 of the newly launched apartments are expected to be developed as rental housing, providing accommodation for workers who are not yet able to purchase a home but need long-term housing stability.
In addition, the developer plans to construct approximately 2,000 more rental housing units on land within these projects during the next phase of development.
