Numerous streets in central Hanoi remained severely flooded on the afternoon of September 30, causing major traffic disruptions. Cars, motorbikes, and public transport vehicles were unable to move as persistent rainfall continued to inundate the capital.
Heavy downpours have repeatedly lashed Hanoi, submerging key roads and paralyzing traffic through the late morning and afternoon.
To Huu Street turned into a "river" stretching several kilometers throughout the morning. By noon, there were no signs of the water receding.
At 1:30 PM, the intersection of Lieu Giai and Dao Tan streets resembled a vast lake.
The deepest flooding at this intersection was nearly one meter.
At Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, rising water from Hoan Kiem Lake combined with the heavy rain to overwhelm the drainage system, resulting in widespread flooding.
Floodwaters surrounded the State Bank of Vietnam headquarters at the Ngo Quyen - Ly Thai To intersection.
Nguyen Phong Sac Street faced a similar situation. The severely flooded sections were almost entirely void of traffic, as vehicles could not pass through.
On To Hieu Street, a car driver accelerated through a deeply flooded section in an attempt to push through.
Another driver was forced to step out and deal with a stalled car after it broke down in the middle of the flooded street.

Heavy rain continues to soak Hanoi, flooding numerous roads and disrupting traffic.
