On June 4-5, in Dong Van district, the Farmers' Association of Ha Giang province organized the contest "Highland market symbol associated with introduction and promotion of agricultural products of ethnic minority and mountainous areas".
The competition had 19 booths, including: Booths displaying and selling OCOP products, agricultural products, and handicrafts; food stalls; booths introducing traditional crafts and cultures of ethnic groups in 19 communes and towns of Dong Van district.
The event recreated the colorful cultural space of ethnic groups in the Ha Giang karst plateau - the core area of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark.
The contest consisted of two parts. The first was organizing product display booths, with each commune having at least one booth displaying at least 15 agricultural products or more, including products in the list of typical models, OCOP products and traditional products such as Khen Mong, brocade, and other typical and characteristic products of the Ha Giang stone plateau that use raw materials, ensuring safety, environmental friendliness, with high economic efficiency.
The second part was the presentation contest entitled “Farmers who are good at introducing and promoting products".
Teams could choose the following topics: Dissemination of policies of the Party and State on support and consumption of agricultural products for farmers; Farmers actively participate in building stamps, labels, brands, and traceability for agricultural products to participate in the market, including traditional and e-commerce.
Participating teams could also make presentations about the roles and responsibilities of Farmers' Associations at all levels in trade promotion; Officials and members of Farmers' Associations at all levels actively and effectively implementing the Program "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front; The movement "Farmers encouraged to promote production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably associated with building agricultural production areas with quality goods and economic value”; Organizing support activities to help farmers consume agricultural products and escape poverty sustainably, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas...
Finally, the Organizing Committee awarded the First prize to the Farmers' Association of Pho La commune, the Second prize of Ta Lung commune, the Third prize to Sung La commune and 15 consolation prizes to other units. The organizers also presented two additional prizes for the best presentation and the most impressive booth.
The contest "Highland market symbol associated with introduction and promotion of agricultural products in ethnic minority and mountainous areas 2023” created an opportunity to introduce, promote, and exchange typical agricultural products of Ha Giang province.
This was also an opportunity for farmers to exchange learning and experience in production, introduce and promote products, gradually eliminating hunger and reducing poverty sustainably.
