Across Ho Chi Minh City, streets, neighborhoods, cafes, and homes are decked in vibrant red flags and banners to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.
In these final days of August, the city is ablaze with colors. Red flags with yellow stars flutter across roads, residential areas, offices, schools, and public spaces, creating a vivid and patriotic atmosphere in anticipation of the national holiday.
In a small alley on Le Quang Dinh Street in Hanh Thong Ward, locals have decorated their homes with flags, creating a serene and uniquely beautiful setting.
Along a road in Binh Thanh Ward, rows of crimson flags waving in the morning sun enhance the festive ambiance.
The city is filled with the red of hundreds of national and Party flags. Roads in Cau Kieu and Gia Dinh Wards seem to have donned a “new coat” in celebration.
This is also a time for reflection. Citizens honor the nation’s history, feel deeper gratitude, and reignite their patriotic spirit.
