Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province, will temporarily suspend ticket sales for its ancient town and craft villages from January 28 to January 31 as part of its Lunar New Year celebrations.
According to a plan signed by Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi An People’s Committee, ticket sales for the ancient town, craft villages, Bay Mau coconut forest, and the Cu Lao Cham Biosphere Reserve will be halted from the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the 3rd day of Tet (January 28–31).
Guided tours in these locations will also be suspended during this period.
For the Cu Lao Cham Biosphere Reserve, ticket sales will pause specifically on January 28 and 29.
From January 26 to 31, Hoi An will also suspend activities related to its pedestrian streets, non-motorized vehicle zones, and the "Night Market" initiative.
Certain streets, including Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Bach Dang, will be closed from January 19 to 31 to create a festive pedestrian-friendly environment.
Hoi An’s Lunar New Year celebration will include a variety of events designed to foster a joyful and festive atmosphere.
Highlights include an art program to welcome the New Year’s Eve, traditional games, folk music, boat races, and other cultural and recreational activities.
From February 7 to 13, Hoi An will host spiritual and cultural events related to Tet Nguyen Tieu (Lantern Festival). These activities aim to preserve and promote Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage while introducing visitors to the rich traditions of this special holiday in Hoi An.
