The information was disclosed by a representative of Huawei Vietnam during the launch event of the MatePad 12 X tablet, held in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of January 9.
Notably, according to a source familiar with the plan, Huawei will only introduce its premium smartphone lineup in Vietnam, while mass-market models will not be distributed in the near future.
The first Huawei smartphone scheduled for sale in Vietnam is expected to hit store shelves in January. The device will run EMUI, Huawei’s custom interface built on the Android platform, allowing users to install applications as well as services published by Google.
The MatePad 12 X tablet unveiled at the event is currently the thinnest and lightest tablet in Huawei’s lineup. The device weighs just 555 grams and is only 5.9 mm thick, making it highly portable for users on the move.
It features a 12-inch display with a 2.8K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, delivering sharp visuals and smooth performance. The tablet is equipped with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and an enhanced 3D cooling system designed to boost efficiency.
The MatePad 12 X comes with a 10,100mAh battery, supports 66W SuperCharge fast charging, and is priced at approximately USD 610.
