Huong Giang surprised audiences with a bold, short wig and edgy style at the Miss Universe 2025 evening gala. She shared that her tight schedule allows her only three hours of sleep each night, forcing her to prioritize health over constant changes in hairstyle and wardrobe.

At the gala on November 8, Huong Giang wore a form-fitting black velvet gown featuring a deep V-cut and a white Miss Universe star symbol placed upside down on the chest. This was the first time the beauty queen sported a sleek, short bob wig.

Huong Giang’s striking new look attracted international media attention. Confident and fluent in English, the Vietnamese representative thanked the foreign press for their compliments and enthusiastic questions about her upcoming activities.

In her latest livestream, Huong Giang revealed that daily activities typically run until 11 p.m. After removing makeup and preparing outfits for the following day, she usually doesn't get to bed until around 1 a.m.

On days when she has to travel or attend rehearsals, she wakes up as early as 4–4:30 a.m., meaning she gets only about three hours of sleep. As a result, Giang must prioritize her schedule, rest, and health rather than focusing on constant outfit and hairstyle changes.

She explained that due to constant travel and long hours in vehicles, she avoids letting her hair down. Moreover, on days she has to fly, she can’t carry hairspray on the plane, making it hard to style curls. She only curls her hair when there’s enough free time or if she returns to the hotel early.

Huong Giang emphasized that she has no intention of changing her hairstyle frequently. Many contestants with short hair also make few changes, which is not considered a major issue, as variety in appearance is secondary.

She only wore her 26 cm-high heels once - on the day she received her sash. For daily activities, she wears heels around 16–17 cm, similar to other contestants.

With 122 countries participating, spaces are always crowded, and contestants must travel by bus all day. Activities typically last eight hours without returning to the hotel. Wearing elaborate evening gowns makes movement difficult and doesn’t suit events like lunch or dinner. Most contestants opt for cocktail dresses that are more comfortable for travel.

Huong Giang aims for a graceful, elegant style with occasional bold touches. Regarding colors, she shared that she avoids overly bright shades like vibrant green. However, she still chooses subtle tones depending on the location and sponsor. For example, at the gala on November 8, she transitioned to black attire after wearing green in the early days of the competition.

On November 8, Miss Universe 2025 organizers posted warm welcome photos of contestants in Phuket, Thailand. That day, the delegates enjoyed zip-lining at a theme park and later attended the evening party.
