Police investigate Miss Universe activities

According to Thai media, local police arrived at the hotel hosting the second day of Miss Universe activities after receiving a tip from Nawat Itsaragrisil, President of Miss Grand International. His organization is hosting the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.

Speaking to the press, Nawat claimed that the Miss Universe Organization brought an illegal sponsor into the country - an online casino company.

“Online casinos are illegal in Thailand. They never informed us about this sponsor,” he said.

The Miss Grand International president emphasized that such a sponsorship is not only illegal in Thailand but also violates the laws and religious norms of many other countries. He claimed the Miss Universe organizers allowed contestants to take promotional photos and videos for the online casino.

On the Miss Universe Thailand Facebook page, Miss Grand International Public Company Limited released an official statement clarifying that although they are the event’s host, they are not involved in any online casino promotions.

“This promotional activity was conducted entirely by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO),” the statement stressed.

Nawat later continued to address the media regarding the incident.

Despite the growing controversy, Vietnam’s representative Huong Giang continued to shine in the evening activities on the second day of Miss Universe. She appeared elegant in a sleek black silk gown, confidently walking alongside contestants from Nepal and Belize.

A large number of fans gathered in the hotel lobby to greet Huong Giang, repeatedly chanting “Oh no, I'm doomed” - a popular catchphrase associated with the singer from her TV show appearances. Supporters also sang “The Flowered Porch,” a song that brought Huong Giang into the spotlight during Vietnam Idol 2012.

Displaying her trademark charm and energy, Huong Giang enthusiastically joined group activities with fellow contestants. She danced, engaged warmly with others, and contributed to an atmosphere of friendliness and connection. Her professionalism and confidence were evident in every gesture and glance.

Alongside more than 120 contestants, Huong Giang continued with the official schedule of the competition. With her glowing presence and positive attitude, she appears to be confidently entering the race for the crown this year.

The Miss Universe 2025 grand finale will take place on November 21 in Thailand.
