With its majestic architecture, lavish gold-adorned interiors and deep historical significance linked to the Later Le Dynasty, the main hall of Lam Kinh is attracting thousands of visitors every day, helping turn the Lam Kinh Historical Site into one of Thanh Hoa's most appealing destinations.
Located within the Special National Historical Site of Lam Kinh in Lam Son Commune, Thanh Hoa Province, the Lam Kinh main hall is a landmark steeped in the history and culture of the Later Le Dynasty. Following an extensive restoration and reconstruction process, the hall officially opened to visitors in 2022 and has since become one of the site's most prominent highlights.
Built on the original foundation of the royal palace used by Le Dynasty kings, the structure features impressive scale, traditional wooden architecture and intricate handcrafted details. What most captivates visitors is the interior, where numerous gilded decorative elements create an atmosphere of luxury while preserving the solemn dignity expected of a monument with profound historical and cultural value.
Stepping inside, visitors are immediately struck by the grandeur of the massive wooden columns, lacquered and gilded horizontal plaques, parallel sentence boards, royal throne and other richly decorated furnishings. Illuminated by natural light, the gold-covered details shine brilliantly, enhancing the hall's majestic beauty.
Dinh Minh Man, a visitor from Dong Thap Province, said he has traveled to Thanh Hoa many times and always includes Lam Kinh Historical Site in his itinerary.
According to Man, the site not only offers insight into the history of the Later Le Dynasty but also serves as a distinctive cultural and spiritual destination in Thanh Hoa. Its expansive grounds, ancient trees, lakes, stone bridges and historic architectural works create a peaceful atmosphere that appeals to both domestic and international visitors.
According to the management board of Lam Kinh Historical Site, visitor numbers have increased steadily in recent years. On average, the site welcomes more than 2,000 visitors per day. During festivals, Lunar New Year celebrations and major cultural events, attendance can reach as many as 9,000 people.
Alongside famous destinations such as Sam Son Beach, the Ho Dynasty Citadel and Cam Luong's sacred fish stream, Lam Kinh is increasingly being included in tours showcasing Thanh Hoa Province. Many travelers choose to combine a seaside holiday in Sam Son with a visit to Lam Kinh to experience both the region's natural beauty and its rich cultural and historical heritage.
The combination of heritage value, distinctive architecture and a sacred atmosphere has helped the Lam Kinh main hall become one of Thanh Hoa's standout attractions, contributing to the promotion of a region renowned for its long and distinguished history.
