The Tet tourism opening event carried the message “touching the original,” honoring the beauty of traditional Lunar New Year customs while reaffirming the city’s image as a safe, friendly and dynamic destination ready to accelerate in the year ahead.
At Da Nang International Airport, the city’s tourism sector organized a special reception for a flight arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, bringing more than 200 visitors to the central coastal city for sightseeing and leisure during the first days of the new year.
Leaders from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with relevant agencies, presented flowers, souvenirs and service vouchers to five lucky passengers on the flight.
All passengers were invited to take part in traditional spring rituals, receiving Tet-themed gifts such as conical hats, lanterns, coffee, coconut cakes and tourism publications that reflected the distinctive spirit of Vietnam’s New Year.
In parallel with the airport welcome, the western park area of Dragon Bridge in Hai Chau ward was awash in spring colors, hosting a series of Tet-themed programs for visiting travel groups.
The atmosphere came alive with vibrant lion and dragon dances, drawing enthusiastic participation from both tourists and local residents.
Here, visitors experienced a vivid Tet space through activities such as drawing lucky envelopes, sampling traditional cuisine, joining folk games, picking spring buds for good fortune and checking in along flower-lined streets glowing with festive colors in the heart of the city. These cultural encounters left a warm impression of a destination rich in identity and heartfelt hospitality.
Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that organizing simultaneous welcome activities at the airport gateway and in the city center demonstrated the proactive and professional approach in service organization and destination experience enhancement.
“In 2026, the city’s tourism sector will continue to effectively tap into key markets, refresh tourism products, improve service quality and build a distinctive and culturally rich image for Da Nang.
With the orientation of ‘touching the original,’ we hope that every visitor to the city can feel authentic and deeply emotional values,” Vuong emphasized.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the Lunar New Year holiday from February 14 to 22 - from the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month to the sixth day of Tet - the total number of flights arriving in Da Nang is estimated at more than 1,500, an increase of over 400 flights compared with the Tet holiday of At Ty 2025. Of these, approximately 829 are domestic flights and 732 are international routes.
These positive figures reflect the strong development and steady growth momentum of Da Nang’s tourism industry, particularly in the international visitor segment.
