According to search data from Cốc Cốc (spanning from August 31 to September 20, 2024), the number of searches for "iPhone 16" on its launch day was lower compared to the search volume for "iPhone 15" on its release day last year.

Specifically, searches for the term “iPhone 15” on its release day last year were about 1.3 times higher than the searches for “iPhone 16” this year.

Even during the days leading up to and following their respective launch dates, the average daily search volume for "iPhone 15" remained higher than for "iPhone 16."

Based on searches related to 1,000 different keywords containing “iPhone 16,” Cốc Cốc users were mostly interested in the product name and where it could be purchased (accounting for 70% of searches), event details (12%), and information on the price and color of the new iPhone model (7% and 2%, respectively).

However, a contrasting trend is seen when looking at Apple-related keywords overall. The total volume of searches for iPhone-related terms during the iPhone 16 launch period increased by 20% compared to the same period during the iPhone 15 launch.

This suggests that iPhones remain highly attractive to users despite lower interest in the newest model.

During the first three weeks of September 2024, the most searched terms were “iPhone 16” and “iPhone 15 Pro Max,” with both consistently ranking high in search volume.

Interestingly, even though it was released a year ago, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max continued to draw significant interest. Additionally, the older iPhone 13 model still attracted a notable amount of searches on the Cốc Cốc browser.
