
With only about a month to go before Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 lineup, prices of the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Vietnam are beginning to show signs of decline.
A survey of several mobile phone retail chains on August 8 showed that iPhone 17 prices are trending downward. The adjustments extend beyond the standard model, with Pro and Pro Max versions also receiving discounts of several million dong.
Depending on the version, iPhone 17 prices have fallen by around $38-65. The iPhone 17 Pro has been discounted by about $114-171, while reductions for the iPhone 17 Pro Max range from approximately $114 to $152.
At some smaller retailers and on e-commerce platforms, the iPhone 17 can be another $11-19 cheaper thanks to promotional programs.
Hoang Ha Mobile currently lists the 256GB iPhone 17 at around $893, down $57. The 512GB version is priced at approximately $1,159, a reduction of $38.
The 256GB iPhone 17 Pro costs around $1,178, about $152 below its listed price. The 512GB version sells for approximately $1,444, down $133, while the 1TB model is priced at around $1,653 after a $171 reduction.
The 512GB iPhone 17 Pro Max currently costs approximately $1,539, down $152, while the 1TB version is priced at around $1,786, also a reduction of $152. The top-end 2TB model has fallen to approximately $2,280, or $152 below its listed price.
At CellphoneS, the 256GB iPhone 17 costs around $912, approximately $38 below its listed price. The 512GB model is priced at about $1,132, down roughly $65.
The 256GB iPhone 17 Pro sells for approximately $1,216, a reduction of $114. The 512GB version costs around $1,463, also down $114. The 1TB iPhone 17 Pro is priced at approximately $1,710.

According to retailers, the iPhone 17 Pro Max remains the most popular model among consumers in Vietnam. The 256GB and 512GB versions in particular are seeing stronger demand, with their prices considered better suited to buyers' needs.
Despite the adjustments, discounts on the iPhone 17 lineup remain relatively modest compared with previous iPhone generations. Retailers are generally cutting prices by around $38-171 depending on the model, meaning actual selling prices remain relatively close to their original listed levels.
Once the new iPhone generation is officially unveiled, iPhone 17 prices are expected to be adjusted further. The extent of any reductions, however, will depend on inventory levels, market demand and the pricing policies of individual retailers.
