Replacing the iPhone Duo’s inner folding screen costs $999 without AppleCare+, just $200 less than a new iPhone 18 Pro, adding to the potential expense of Apple’s first foldable phone.

In Vietnam, the iPhone Duo starts at approximately $2,512 for the 256GB model and reaches about $4,019 for the top 2TB configuration.

Already among the most expensive smartphones on the market, Apple’s first foldable phone also carries steep repair costs if something goes wrong outside warranty coverage or without an extended protection plan.

According to Apple’s official technical support documentation, international service charges for customers without AppleCare+ are listed as follows:

Screen protective coating damage: $49.

Back glass damage: $199.

Battery replacement: $229.

Rear camera damage: $229.

Outer display damage (5.4 inches): $379.

Outer display and back glass damage: $509.

Inner folding display damage (7.6 inches): $999.

Other major damage: $1,499.

At $999, replacing the inner display alone costs nearly half the price of a new device and approaches the $1,199 starting price of an iPhone 18 Pro in the US.

On its Vietnamese support website, Apple displays only repair fees for customers with AppleCare+. Battery servicing is free under the plan, while other services range from approximately $21 to $155.

AppleCare+ for the iPhone Duo costs about $348 in Vietnam, compared with around $236 for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Preorders for the iPhone Duo open at 7 p.m. on October 16, ahead of its official release on October 23.
