The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) also launched It’s Time For Japan “Okaeri” campaign, to mark the reopening of Japan to Vietnamese tourists, and to popularize the attraction of the land of the rising sun.
Yoshida Kenji, head of JNTO representative office in Vietnam, said that along with welcoming Vietnamese tourists, as of January, 2023, Japan will also seek to implement a number of interesting activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties with Vietnam.
According to Nguyen Trung Khanh, chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Japan is an ideal destination for Vietnamese holidaymakers.
Once Japan moves to relax travel restrictions, bilateral tourism promotion and exchanges between both sides will strongly recover, said Khanh, adding the number of Vietnamese and Japanese arrivals is expected to soon reach 1.5 million annually, equivalent to the pre-pandemic figure.
