Korean artists Yoo Jae Suk, Hwang Jung Min, Ji Suk Jin, and Yang Se Chan, together with their crew, visited Vietnam recently to film an entertainment program.
Upon landing at Noi Bai Airport, the Korean celebrities took a taxi to Hanoi Railway Station where they began to explore the capital city for a few hours before heading to Sa Pa, their final leg of the journey.
According to the program's rules, participants were not allowed to use phone apps during the trip. They had to manage to do everything themselves, from booking flights and hotel rooms to finding means of transport and eateries.
However, this was not a difficult duty for them. With a passion for exploration, the four artists had an exciting experience during their brief stay in Hanoi.
They walked to several places, including the Hanoi Station (on Le Duan street) and the Train Cafe Street on Phung Hung street (Hoan Kiem district).
They also visited Tong Duy Tan food street and stopped at a popular eatery to enjoy appetizing dishes. After considering the menu, they ordered four servings of bun hai san (seafood vermicelli), one serving of pho xao bo (stir-fried beef pho), one serving of bun cha (kebab rice noodles) and one plate of fried spring rolls.
When the bowl of seafood noodles was brought to their table, MC Yoo Jae Suk exclaimed in surprise, "It looks so good".
Actor Ji Suk Jin was taken aback by the impressive appearance and arrangement of the dish, with a variety of tasty seafood like fish, mantis shrimp and prawns.
To enhance the flavor of the noodles, they added a little garlic vinegar and chili sauce.
While eating, they praised the seafood noodles, noting that the flavor was similar to the fish stew soup in Korea. They were surprised as the dish was priced at 2,500 won per bowl, or VND50,000.
In addition to the seafood noodles, the diners also gave high compliments to other dishes - fried spring rolls, bun cha, and stir-fried beef pho. They kept picking up food, showing their satisfaction and enjoyment.
"We just happened to find this place, and can't believe the food is so good," Yoo Jae Suk said.
The total cost of the meal for the four artists and their crew (five people) was VND810,000 VND (over 40,000 won). The Korean visitors commented that the prices were reasonable and the dishes matched the quality.
