Lai Chau's tourism industry is gradually recovering, tourism activities are getting vibrant again after a long period of "freezing" due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

In the past 10 months, the number of visitors to Lai Chau was estimated at 799,740, an increase of 37% over the same period of 2022, bringing in 586.23 billion VND in revenue, an increase of 19.9% and reaching 92.9% of the yearly plan. Particularly, the province welcomed about 60,600 visitors during the National Day holiday (September 2).

To promote its tourism industry, on November 5 a workshop was held in Lai Chau to evaluate the province's tourism products, targeting the Lao and Chinese markets.

At the discussion, travel firms, media agencies throughout the country, and tourism service businesses in the three  Lao provinces of Phongsaly, Oudomxay, and Luang Prabang, tourism service providers from Honghe County, Yunnan province, China all highly appreciated Lai Chau's tourism potential.

According to Mr. Tong Thanh Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, Lai Chau  province has majestic, pristine natural scenery, legendary roads, and highest peaks in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The province is currently home to many famous tourist attractions and owns a rich and diverse cultural identity of 20 ethnic groups.

The province is also a bridge between the two famous tourist destinations of Sa Pa and Dien Bien Phu, where people are gentle, friendly and hospitable.

Lai Chau province's leaders always listen, are ready to discuss, and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles for businesses, aiming to make "Lai Chau an attractive tourist destination in the Northwest region", the highlight of tourists on their journey to explore the Northwest of Vietnam.

The leader of Lai Chau Province committed to always accompany and create favorable conditions to support and share with travel firms and tourists in the process of deploying and implementing tour programs and local tourism activities. 

At the workshop, representatives of travel companies discussed and analyzed tourism potential and strengths of Lai Chau and proposed that Lai Chau province make further adjustments in promotion and training methods, human resources, quality of tourism products...

Once these bottlenecks are removed, great opportunities will be created to turn tourism potential into an advantage for Lai Chau province.
