Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, is a candidate for the 16th National Assembly in Hanoi. She previously served as a delegate for the 14th and 15th National Assembly.
Lan graduated from university majoring in Veterinary Medicine and holds a doctoral degree in the same field.
In her action program, the female professor commits to focusing on building and supervising policies regarding agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. She will participate in perfecting policies on land, environment, and the development of ecological, circular, and high-tech agriculture.
Besides, she will recommend mechanisms to enhance the value of agricultural products, develop the production-processing-consumption chain, and promote science, technology, and digital transformation in agriculture. Additionally, she is interested in policies ensuring livelihoods, social security, and expanding access to credit and agricultural insurance, contributing to increasing income for the people.
She wishes to promote science, technology, and innovation as drivers for green, sustainable, and high-value-added agricultural development. Specifically, she will propose policies to promote a multi-valued rural economy; boost the application of new varieties, biotechnology, advanced production processes, and post-harvest processing and preservation technologies.
She will also propose policies for ecological tourism and craft village development; strengthening food safety, traceability, and rural environmental treatment. Furthermore, she focuses on promoting digital transformation and technology application in production management and agricultural product consumption.

Tran Thi Hong Lien works at the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University, HCMC).
She was formerly a lecturer at the University of Commerce (2006-2008), then worked at several enterprises such as GAMI Group, VINAPOL JSC, and Korea Investment and Development Company.
Since 2011, she has worked at the University of Economics and Law as a lecturer in the Faculty of Business Administration. During the 2013-2017 period, she studied abroad in Australia while participating in student union activities.
In 2019, she was appointed Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. From August 2022 to present, she has held the position of Dean. In 2022-2025, she concurrently served as the Head of the Human Resources Department of the university.
With over 20 years of experience working in state-owned, private, and foreign organizations and enterprises, along with consulting experience in governance and strategy for many businesses in Vietnam, she expects to contribute professional expertise in business administration and strengthen connections and information exchange with domestic and international media.
She promised to promptly grasp and convey issues of voter concern, especially social security, affordable housing - social housing, environment, urban planning, and the quality of life of residents in the city.
Lien also stated that she would provide the National Assembly with scientific evaluations of important national issues through rigorous and reliable research, aligned with the development trends of science, technology, and innovation, where decision-making needs to be data-driven.
She will convey the voice of the intellectual community on education and training issues, especially higher education, and promote the development of science and technology within the system of universities, research institutes, and enterprises.
Education official in her 40s
Le Thuy My Chau, born in 1980, is currently deputy director of the HCMC Department of Education and Training, the education authority of the country’s largest school system.
Chau currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy director of the HCMC Department of Education and Training.
She holds two master’s degrees (education management and business administration), two bachelor’s degrees (biology education and philosophy) and has completed advanced political theory training.
Before taking on a leadership role in the city’s education sector, she spent many years working at the grassroots level. She was appointed deputy director of the department in May 2023 and, since April 2025, has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy director of the department.
Regarding education policy, she said she will participate in developing and refining policies in line with Resolution 71 of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam on breakthroughs in education and training development. Her priorities include innovating teaching and learning methods, developing students’ capabilities, expanding advanced education programs, strengthening English teaching and applying technology in management and instruction.
