According to details given by the Ministry of Health, a total of 102 dengue fever deaths have been documented in the country this year, a year-on-year increase of 81 cases.
Between October 7 and October 14 health authorities nationwide reported 9,750 dengue fever cases, including one death confirmed in Binh Duong province.
The Ministry reported that since the start of the year the capital has since 6,779 cases, a 3.2 increase compared to last year’s figures, with a total of five deaths.
Specifically, over the past week Hanoi has recorded 1,034 cases, with 48 fresh outbreaks being found in 19 districts across the city.
Moving forward, the number of patients is predicted to increase due to the peak months for dengue fever normally falling between July and November each year.
