According to a report released on December 6 by the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance, an estimated 67,156 new cars  -  including both domestically assembled and imported models  -  were added to the Vietnamese market in November 2025. This marks a 17.1% increase over October’s total of 57,343 units.

Of this, locally assembled cars accounted for 50,900 units, up 24.1% month-on-month and 8.2% year-on-year compared to November 2024. This figure sets a new monthly record for Vietnam’s domestic car manufacturing sector in 2025.

So far this year, total domestic car output has reached approximately 425,600 units, reflecting a robust 37.4% increase over the same period last year. This growth underscores the strong efforts of local automakers to boost supply and capture market share amid rising demand.

In terms of fully imported vehicles, Vietnam brought in 16,256 cars in November, valued at approximately $456 million USD. Although the volume slightly dipped by 0.5% from October (16,343 units), the total value rose by 6%, up from $430 million USD the previous month.

For the first 11 months of 2025, Vietnam imported an estimated 187,620 completely built units (CBUs) with a total value of about $4.327 billion USD  -  a 16.8% rise in quantity and a significant 30.6% increase in value compared to the same period in 2024.

This trend shows that car importers are shifting focus toward higher-end models rather than low-cost, low-value vehicles, responding to evolving consumer preferences.

Vietnam’s auto market is now entering its most dynamic period of the year  -  the year-end shopping season  -  characterized by unprecedented promotional campaigns and deep price cuts from numerous car brands.

Experts describe this as a “golden window” for car buyers, with favorable pricing driven by abundant supply and growing inventory pressure. Automakers are launching aggressive incentives to clear stock and boost sales before the year ends.
