A series of scientific workshops began in Quy Nhon city in the central province of Binh Dinh on July 10, as part of the 13th Meet Vietnam programme this year.

The series are set to cover topics of cosmology, neutrino physics and neutrino study in Vietnam, with 120 scientists from 20 countries worldwide gathering at the opening ceremony.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary said spoke highly of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), the venue of the scientific event.

He said he believes the centre, with its efforts, would help develop a younger generation of dedicated scientists.

Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee, said his agency is working with the ICISE to build a cosmology complex, which consists of a space centre and exhibition area, and an observatory.

He said the complex is a highlight of the local Quy Hoa science and education urban area, a future venue for scientific research and innovation in Vietnam.
