On Thursday morning in Dong Nai province, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a working delegation attended the launch ceremony of Component Project 1 - compensation, support and resettlement for Huong Lo 2 road (the section from National Highway 51 to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway).

This is a key transport project in Dong Nai, expected to help complete the regional transport infrastructure system while gradually forming a riverside route along the Dong Nai River.
The project is also designed to create momentum for the development of modern riverside urban areas and promote the province’s socio-economic growth.
According to the plan, Huong Lo 2 road will be approximately 9.5 kilometers long with eight lanes and a road width of 60 meters.
The project has a total investment of VND5.889 trillion (approximately US$240 million) and will be implemented through two component projects.
Once completed, the route will open a new traffic corridor, reducing pressure on National Highway 51, particularly the section from the Vung Tau intersection to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
At the same time, the road is expected to create more opportunities for commercial, service and tourism development while improving residents’ living standards and the urban landscape of the central area.
During project implementation, compensation, resettlement support and land clearance have been identified as the “key step that opens the way,” playing a decisive role in both project progress and overall effectiveness.
Component Project 1, which covers compensation, support and resettlement, has a total investment of about VND573 billion (approximately US$23 million) funded by the province’s public investment budget.
The project will be implemented during the 2025-2028 period in Tam Phuoc ward and An Phuoc commune.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut said the province has clearly identified the task of mobilizing maximum resources for infrastructure investment, with a focus on urban transport and connectivity projects.
The launch of the project, he said, is the result of strong direction from the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council and the Provincial People’s Committee, along with the efforts of departments, sectors and local authorities.
To ensure progress, Nguyen Van Ut asked relevant agencies to concentrate resources on compensation, support and resettlement work according to schedule, aiming to complete the handover of all project land before September 2.
“The province has selected the Huong Lo 2 compensation project as a model project for 2026 to replicate across other key transport infrastructure projects, ensuring that land clearance will not become a bottleneck for construction in the coming period,” he emphasized.
