On the evening of December 3 (local time), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, accompanied by his spouse and a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly, arrived at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, commencing an official visit to Japan.

The visit, taking place from December 3 to 7, is at the invitation of Sekiguchi Masakazu, President of Japan's House of Councillors.

Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Senator Makino, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the House of Councillors; representatives of the Japanese Senate; Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu and his wife; embassy staff; and members of the Vietnamese community in Japan.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man is scheduled to hold talks with House of Councillors President Sekiguchi Masakazu and House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro, as well as meet Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru. 

Additionally, he will pay respects to the Emperor and Empress of Japan and present medals from Vietnam's President to several former Japanese leaders in recognition of their contributions to bilateral relations.

The Chairman will also meet with leaders of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, heads of major Japanese political parties, and other prominent figures who have played significant roles in fostering ties between the two nations. 

Meetings with executives from leading Japanese corporations and businesses are also on the agenda. Furthermore, he will engage with staff at the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General in Japan and representatives of the Vietnamese expatriate community.

A key event during the visit will be the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese National Assembly and Japan's House of Councillors, co-signed by Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President Sekiguchi Masakazu. This agreement is expected to serve as a critical foundation for elevating legislative cooperation between the two countries to new heights in the coming years.

The visit coincides with the anniversary of the elevation of Vietnam-Japan relations to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World." The two nations continue to enjoy robust and multifaceted cooperation, characterized by strong political trust and frequent high-level exchanges.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit is anticipated to deepen the Vietnam-Japan partnership within the framework of enhanced cooperation, particularly between the legislative bodies of the two countries, providing a powerful impetus for progress across various sectors.
