Update news net zero emissions
The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2024, slated to take place from April 11-14 under the theme "Vietnam tourism - Green transition for sustainable development," is said to closely follow a new global trend of "Net zero tours".
Referring to plans to obtain net-zero emissions, Dong Nai Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh has told provincial agencies: “Do it, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. We are doing a good deed."
Vietnam has received a 51.5 million USD payment from the World Bank for verified emissions reductions - commonly referred to as carbon credits - for reducing 10.3 million tonnes of CO2 in the 2018-2024 period.
Vietnam has made major strides in implementing the goal of reducing emissions in the transportation sector in Vietnam. State agencies and businesses have strictly made efforts to reduce the dangerous emissions from vehicles.

Vietnam has received 41.2 million USD, equivalent to 80% of the total funding, from the World Bank for 10.3 million tonnes of CO2 as a result of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions in deforestation and forest degradation until 2025.
